Join ICD on a guided hike around Tent Ridge in Kananaskis Country, led by Brad Sinex, T1D, ICD Hero, and an experienced backcountry hiker.
This is a challenging 10 km loop with over 800m in elevation gain that involves some fun scrambling over rocky terrain. The views from the ridge line are unparalleled and include a view of the majestic Mt. Assiniboine!
We will be checking (and re-checking!) our blood sugars together and discussing strategies for staying active with diabetes in the mix. The hike will begin at the trailhead parking promptly at 9am and should take 5-6 hours to complete with a lunch break at the high point of the ridge (weather permitting).
Pack your low supplies, adjust your basals, and get ready to make meaningful connections with your T1D peers. Open to adults and youth living with T1D, their friends and family members. The rugged nature of this hike makes it a great challenge for youth age 12+
