ICD Goes Snow Tubing!
January 26, 2024
Join our team for a day of snow tubing on Ontario's longest snow tubing hill at Horseshoe Resort, just 1.5 hours north of Toronto.
Named by BlogTO as one of the most amazing snow tubing destinations in Ontario, we'll be sure to get your heart pumping with the all-thrill, no-skill fun of snow tubing. Fly down the hill and then let the magic carpet whisk you back up to the top!
We will strategize together on the best ways to keep ourselves and our diabetes devices warm and functioning while enjoying the crisp winter weather. Think you can do a finger poke and blood check on your way down the hill?
Includes 2 hours of tubing in the morning, lunch and carb counting games, and 2 hours of tubing in the afternoon.
**Parents and caregivers are invited to join us for our 10am workshop with Chris Jarvis, ICD founder and Executive Director and Laura Bradbury, MN, NP-PHC, BScN, CNN(C) focusing on our shared challenges as caregivers of children living with a chronic illness.
Laura Bradbury is a Nurse Practitioner and Psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience in health care. Laura completed both undergraduate and graduate level degrees, in addition to a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner certification at Ryerson University in Toronto. She has additional training through University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In addition to neurosciences, the major focus of Laura's work has been chronic illness management with a keen interest in the mind-body connection. Living with a chronic illness for the past 25 years has also provided Laura with the unique first-hand experience individuals and families face.
