While finding a cure is the long term goal for diabetes, the lives of diabetics NOW are just as important! Each day, people living with type 1 diabetes have to make over 180 decisions about their health a day and it can be absolutely DRAINING.

Many feel down and alone, which greatly affects their mental health and self-confidence, especially at a young age when growing up around other kids who aren’t going through the same thing.

Living with type 1 diabetes for over 2 years now, I can now say that having a support group can change someone’s life tremendously. That’s what ICD is all about. I Challenge Diabetes fosters a community of people with type 1 diabetes who, through experiential education and adventure, provide each other with the skills and confidence to overcome the daily challenges and create a new expectation for what we can accomplish.

ICD focuses on how to manage diabetes effectively in the midst of real life challenges and use active programs to bring strategies to life. They’ve hosted thousands of type 1s in everything from a fun day of hiking or paddling to week-long sports camps and extreme adventure challenges. ICD shows type 1s that they are strong and can do anything they put their mind to! To learn more about ICD and what they offer, please click HERE.

That being said, I would like to formally invite you to this year’s End of Summer Soirée in support of I Challenge Diabetes. Our goal this year is to raise $100,000 to create supportive programs which will continue to improve the lives of type 1 diabetics! I know that with all of your support, we can reach it! 🙂

Looking forward to seeing you there!
