Together, we’ll take on this 65-mile stretch of heritage river, learning to navigate whitewater, build backcountry skills, and discover new strengths along the way. This is more than just an outdoor adventure; it’s a chance to connect with others living with Type 1 diabetes who truly understand your journey. Share experiences, gain confidence, and find support while exploring one of Ontario’s most scenic wilderness areas.

This trip is open to strong teens and adults with Type 1 Diabetes who are physically fit and able to carry up to 30% of their body weight in a backpack. If you’re ready to work hard, push your limits, and embrace a few challenges in exchange for incredible rewards, this adventure is for you.
Sleeping arrangements will be organized by gender. If you have any concerns or specific accommodation needs, please let us know so we can ensure your experience is safe and comfortable.

Gear Up for Adventure
Once registered, you’ll receive a detailed packing list and everything you need to prepare for your journey. You’ll need to bring your own hiking boots, rain jacket, and athletic wear. Not sure what to buy and what to borrow? Our leadership team can help - we may even be able to provide extra equipment such as backpacks, high-end sleeping bags, and headlamps upon request.
Cost & Inclusions
Every ticket covers camping permits, all meals and snacks, tents, a camp kitchen, backcountry safety gear, and leadership from the ICD team.
